I was fortunate to be able to meet my favorite Jvloggers. We met up at Hachiko in Shibuya. I remembered there was a leaning rail behind the dog (Why would we have benches? We have no need for benches in Japan!), and zoomed into a spot to wait. Super crowded there. I had that brain melty 2-days-in feeling of “What have I gotten myself into? I hope I can string 2 words together. Huh, there’s a lot of white people here.”
So we met up in the surge of people and headed out to Pemme, an Omurice restaurant. You’d think I’d have tried Omurice, as dorky a Japan fan as I am, but I hadn’t gotten to it. This place had all sorts of options beyond just ketchup on egg on ketchup rice. I went for the Japanesiest version I saw, and it was pretty spectacular. Spectacular enough to make it to my questionable stomach.
These guys have made some brave moves in their lives, ditching their US life for world travel and then settling in Japan. What I like about them is that they’re just a laid-back couple that go around and have fun and crack wise without being jerks and without looking like makeup models. And when everybody is making 2 to 6 minute videos on You Tube, these guys are making 20 minutes to over an hour. You actually get to see what their adventures are like and not just a few indecipherable highlights. Why, I might even suggest they are worth supporting.
